The Makem Brothers on Old Time Country Music

Jerry Grady, Executive Producer of the nationally syndicated PBS program, OLD TIME COUNTRY, announced today that THE MAKEM BROTHERS have been signed to appear on two half hour programs in the 1996-97 season.

Shown on over sixty stations nationwide, Old Time Country is the premiere showcase of America's diverse musical heritage. Grady is enthusiastic about the brothers, "They are without a doubt the new standard-bearers of the rich Irish song tradition."

The Makem Brothers' manager, Kevin O'Shea, believes that this is a tremendous opportunity for the talented trio. "I have no doubt that with two half-hour shows, that the brothers will have an unparalleled opportunity to showcase themselves in front of more people at one time in the US and Canada than any other Irish act in the genre in quite a while."

The taping will take place in late September in Des Moines and will be aired by most local affiliates in early 1997.
